A brief history of Ford

Ford is one of the world's largest automobile manufacturers and also one of the most successful.

The company was founded in Detroit, Michigan in 1903 by Henry Ford, an American inventor and entrepreneur who wanted to make vehicles that were affordable for the average consumer.

Ford Motor Company was incorporated on June 16, 1903 with $28,000 in capital from 12 investors who had previously bought Ford's first car, the Model A. The company went public just two years later.

In 1908, Ford introduced its first moving assembly line at its Highland Park plant in Michigan and soon became a leader in mass production. The Model T was introduced in 1908 and became the best-selling car in America for over 20 years.

In 1920s Ford began producing new models with larger engines and more comfort features such as air conditioning and automatic transmission. It also introduced more powerful trucks and tractors for use on farms and ranches throughout North America and Europe.
