Flexed is a car subscription company started in 2013 as an alternative to traditional car leasing. Part of the Autohorn Fleet Services group, Flexed was set up to make car leasing hassle-free, removing rigid contracts that trap drivers into long-term leases.
Like most car subscription companies, Flexed includes most driving expenses in a single monthly payment, such as car maintenance, road tax, breakdown cover, and up to 15,000 miles per year.
Flexed offers car subscriptions for both business and personal use. As well as 1-month rolling contracts, Flexed also offers cars on 3, 6 and 12-month subscription deals.
All available cars are listed on the Flexed website. You can see certain key information — including fuel type, emissions, fuel economy and car value — at a glance. When you’ve chosen your car, you can request a bespoke quote based on your usage needs.
A Flexed team member will then get back to you with a quote. Unlike other car subscription providers, you can’t sign up online. You’ll need to complete the booking over the phone or in person at Flexed’s York depot. While this is a little less convenient than online booking, it means you may be able to negotiate terms if you’re comfortable doing so.
If you want to change or cancel your car subscription, you can do so at any time. Flexed will refund any days you’ve paid for and not used (after your initial 28 day contract period).
To get a Flexed car subscription, you’ll need to:
If you want to lease a car on behalf of your business, you may need to provide other information, including:
With its cheapest car currently costing £313 per month, Flexed is a fairly average car subscription provider when it comes to affordability. They also offer more expensive vehicles on subscription, with cars from more premium brands such as Jaguar and Audi likely to set you back more than £1,000 per month.
Each subscription package includes:
No joining fee or deposit is needed to hire a Flexed car. Car delivery and collection isn’t included as standard, but can be arranged for an additional fee. You can also collect or drop-off your car at the York depot for free. Insurance is also available as an optional extra.
Flexed is a little more old-fashioned than some of the other car subscription providers out there. Their phone booking system may put drivers off if they’re looking for instant booking with maximum convenience.
But there are other reasons to choose Flexed as your car subscription provider. Their eligibility age is lower than some other providers, which only take on drivers aged 25 and over. Plus, most other providers include insurance within their packages, which gives you less flexibility over your insurance. If you want to arrange your own car insurance, Flexed could be the right provider for you.

Flexed charge a car delivery or collection fee of £0.89 per mile (+VAT). This charge applies at any distance from their York depot. Alternatively, you can collect/drop-off the car free of charge.
Every Flexed contract has a minimum length of 28 days. After this, you can cancel at any time. Flexed will refund any unused days. This doesn’t apply if you sign up for a 3, 6 or 12-month fixed term contract.
Yes, but they also underwrite their own contracts. That means they can accept drivers with a range of credit histories. They will take your current situation into account, as well as your credit history. You may be able to take out a car subscription with Flexed even if you have bad credit (though this isn’t guaranteed).
